The basic course is dedicated for those who decided to become a freediver. It is suitable both for people who have never dived in their life, as well as for those who want to get a solid foundation in order to improve their breath hold and dives.
What will be covered on the course?
THEORY Fundamentals of freediving physiology. Short-term and long-term adaptive mechanisms of our body. How to breathe properly before and after diving. Pressure and its affect on freediver. Equalization methods in freediving. Basic safety rules. How to achieve maximum results efficiently and safely. Freediving equipment. Freediving disciplines. How to combine freediving and scuba diving. Freediver's Code of conduct.
PRACTICE Breathing technique and preparation for holding the breath. Full body and chest stretching. Relaxation and body scanning practices. Correct body position and finning technique. Equalization workshop. Static apnea session - holding your breath on land and in the water. Dynamic apnea session - freediving in the pool. Open water sessions - freediving along the rope with fins and pulling up with hands. Practicing buddy system and rescue skills.
Course requirements
Age 16 years and above Ability to swim 200 meters, or 300 meters with fins and snorkel Completed medical questionnaire (and permission from the doctor if there are "yes" answers in the list) Signed agreement with terms of acceptance of responsibility and risks
What you will achieve after the course completion
Breath hold - 1:30 min + Be able to swim under the water in the pool with fins more than 30 meters Dive to the depth of 12-20 meters Apply the buddy system and rescue skills Have an access to Base Training Program designed by the best world free divers (after Wave 1 only)
What is needed on the course?
Towel, slippers, swimsuit, light sportswear.
Full set of freediving equipment: wetsuit, fins, mask, weight belt, weights. If you do not have your own set, we will provide it for you. This is included in the course price.
